Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before reaching out. Still have questions? Just send a message.

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a process that focuses on going beneath the surface — understanding your concerns in depth, rather than only working with the symptoms. The aim is for you to (re)gain your capacity for self-awareness, healing, and change.

Is there a free introductory call?

Yes. Before beginning sessions, I'll reach out to arrange a free 15-minute introductory call. This is a chance to understand your needs, ask any questions, and see if the therapeutic relationship is a good fit — with no commitment required.

Can a family member contact you on my behalf?

Yes, a family member can make the first contact. After that, you'll need to get in touch with me yourself before we go any further.

Where will the sessions take place?

The sessions are held online as video calls via Google Meet. You can join from anywhere with a stable internet connection — from India or internationally.

What will be the frequency of the sessions?

Sessions are held once a week on a mutually agreed day and time as a fixed slot. You and I will meet on the same slot each week unless discussed otherwise.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Life happens — if you need to cancel or reschedule, just let me know at least 24 hours before your session. If it's later than that, the session fee still applies, because that hour was held just for you. Reschedules are arranged as per my availability.

Will Confidentiality be maintained?

The information shared during the therapy process will be kept confidential. The main exceptions are: (1) if I sense any risk of harm to you or to others, (2) when mandated by law to disclose certain information, and (3) clinical supervision, where I discuss my work without your name or identifying details and, only with your consent, my supervisor may hear a short de-identified recording excerpt (see the next question).

What Indian law says, and the exceptions
Are sessions recorded?

Only with your consent. If you agree, I may record a session so I can listen back and review my work. Now and then my clinical supervisor hears a short excerpt, up to about five minutes, and one short clip goes to the examiners for my Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) oral exam. Recordings are de-identified, kept in my Google Workspace Drive and on my laptop, and deleted every six months. If recording doesn't feel right for you, just say so. It won't affect your sessions.

How much do sessions cost?

Session fees are discussed during the free 15-minute introductory call, where I'll explain the current fee structure and payment options. There is no commitment required before that conversation.
